Voyage from New York to Oregon Territory of Governor John P. Gains and his family and notes on their life there /by Archibald Kinkead Gaines, 1850-1858.

The journal describes the family's 1850 sea voyage from New York to San Francisco on board U.S. store ship Supply, and on to Astoria, Oregon Territory on the sloop of war Falmouth. There are two sets of entries covering the same journey; January to December 1850, and then the account begins again with June 1850 to February 1858. This is followed by records of family births and deaths, and a summary of their life in Oregon, including the Governor Gaines's career.
